    Playing two Casper schools, the Worland Lady Warriors softball team is determined to bounce back from an 0-4 weekend. The Lady Warriors (1-8) lost to Natrona High School 8-1 in the conference game and 6-3 in the non-conference game on April 12 at Newell Sargent Park.     There’s nothing like home cooking, and the Worland High School track and field team made the most of hosting their annual meet, the D&D Invitational, on April 4. The Lady Warriors won their home meet with 209.50 points; Powell was second with 196 points, and Lovell third with 55 points.     With the spring break behind them, the Worland High School soccer teams and softball team resume their regular season schedules this week. After winning the Pinnacle Cup on March 23, the No. 1 Worland Warriors (4-1) soccer team has two 3A East conference road games this week.     Competing at the Cody Invitational on March 21, the Ten Sleep track and field teams got their 2024 season underway. Lady Pioneer Izzy Fox was among the highlights for Ten Sleep in Cody. The senior finished sixth in the high jump, clearing 4-9 and qualified for the 1A State meet. Pioneer Jacob Holiday finished fifth in the 800 meters running a 2:08.90.     Wasting little time, the Worland High School track and field team opened their season with a great showing at the Glen Legler Early Bird meet at Natrona High School in Casper on March 16. The Lady Warriors not only won their opening meet of the season but did so convincingly.     After a pair of tough losses, the Worland Warriors had a sudden end to their time at the 3A State Boys Basketball Tournament in Casper on March 7-9. In the quarterfinals, the Warriors faced Buffalo, the 2-seed out of the East, at the Ford Wyoming Center. The Warriors held a 25-21 lead at the break, shooting 50% from the field.     Making history at the state girls wrestling tournament last week in Casper, Worland's Rivers Carrell became the first-ever girl state champion for the Worland High School wrestling program.     The Worland Warriors swimming and diving team only had two swimmers compete at the 3A State meet in Laramie last weekend, but both swimmers cut time and gave it their all. Senior Joey Durrant and junior Scott Thomas were the Warriors to compete at the season's culminating event.
