Serving the Big Horn Basin for over 100 years
WORLAND – For the second year in a row, Worland’s Cal Ripken 10-U baseball team will be representing Wyoming at the Pacific Northwest Regional Tournament after winning the state tournament held in Worland last weekend.
This year the tournament will be held in West Linn, Oregon starting Thursday, July 23. The team will be leaving Wednesday, July 23 to travel to the tournament.
In an effort to raise funds for the trip, the team will be holding a pancake breakfast at the American Legion Post 44 tomorrow, Saturday, July 18.
Tickets will cost $10 per person and are available the Legion or from any one of the team members. Kids the age of five and under get to eat for free.
Those who don’t get tickets in advance can still attend, but will have to pay $12.
There will also be a carwash and a bake sale following the pancake breakfast which will also help fund the trip to Oregon.
The team has already seen an immense amount of support from the community as many have donated money to help out just days after Worland earned the trip to its second consecutive regional tournament.
“It feels like in the last two years there has been a 100 percent increase in support. I’m almost speechless,” said Mary Leyva, Vice President of Worland Youth Baseball.
The pancake breakfast will take place from 9 to 11 a.m. Saturday at the American Legion Post 44.
