Serving the Big Horn Basin for over 100 years
It has been my privilege and honor to serve as an intern for the summer at the Northern Wyoming Daily News. There are some people I would like to thank. Thank you to the office staff for welcoming me with open arms into their office, the editorial staff for putting up with me, I know I was hard to work with at times, Karla Pomeroy for being an awesome editor and never giving up on me and I would also like to thank Patrick Murphy for the amazing opportunity he has presented me with working with the Daily News. I appreciate all the support everyone has given me to help me be a successful writer.
Transitioning from a high school newspaper to local daily has been very rewarding. I have learned so much through this experience. I have learned the hard work that goes into producing a paper from advertising to writing the stories to printing on the press; the staff at the Northern Wyoming Daily News is always busy with something to produce the paper. Another thing I learned how to run a newspaper and witnessed the criticism that comes along with it. Most importantly, I have learned how to work with others in a polite manner and I learned how to create lasting friendships through working with the Daily News staff.
I have created lasting memories that I will hold onto for the rest of my life. The long court days with Zach Spadt have helped me tremendously and I will hold onto everything he has taught me about journalism. The late night editing sessions with Karla have made my internship worth remembering. I will cherish the laughs we have all shared throughout the summer. I will remember this opportunity for the rest of my life. Everyone at the Daily News will forever be in my heart and I will miss all of you dearly.
I will greatly miss writing for the Daily News, however I must go on to further my education. I hope to write for this community in the future.
