Serving the Big Horn Basin for over 100 years
WORLAND – Worland Middle and High School have added longtime teacher Chad Rose to their staff this year. He has been teaching for 17 years in Wyoming.
Rose teaches sixth grade general music and seventh and eighth grade choir for Worland Middle School. He teaches 9 – 12 grade jazz choir and helps with the 9 – 12 grade marching band at Worland High School. This is his first year teaching for Washakie County District # 1.
For the last two years Rose has been working at the Wind River High School and Middle School creating a program. “I spent the last two years on the Wind River Indian Reservation building a secondary program for Wind River High School and Middle School and when I say building it, there were no class offerings, so we absolutely built it from scratch,” Rose said.
Rose is currently the president of the Wyoming Music Educators Association. According to the Wyoming Music Educators Association website, “The Wyoming Music Educators Association (WMEA) is the professional association for music teachers in the State of Wyoming. Members include Kindergarten – 12th grade, higher education, and private music instructors. Public, private and parochial teachers are represented in the active, collegiate, and retired membership. WMEA provides professional development for music teachers, provides opportunities for all music students to explore and excel in the arts, and serves as an advocate for music education in the schools of Wyoming.”
Rose is also the coach for the Worland High School golf team. Before coming to Worland he was the head coach for seven years for Buffalo High School and ran a junior program in Lusk for seven years.
Rose moved here with his wife Jenni who is a nurse at the hospital, and his three children. His daughter Chloe is a second grader and his son Marshall is a kindergartener at West Side Elementary School. He also has a son Maverick who is 2 years old.
