Michael John Paul Porath

Michael John Paul Porath, 25, died suddenly Saturday, November 14, in Fremont County, as the result of an auto accident.

Born April 17, 1990 in Worland, Wyoming, Michael is the son of Daniel and Leila (Luehne) Porath and brother of Christina Porath. He graduated from Hot Springs County High School in 2008. Attending Casper College he received his pilot's license and Associate Degree in Aviation.

Michael asked Lorraine Carver to marry him on January 19th, 2013, while on a family trip to Las Vegas. She was the sunshine of his life. They made a life together in Casper and he worked at Norco Industrial Services. Never knowing a stranger, he made friends easily, was generous, respectful and loving to all. He loved his family, with special affection for Grandpa and Grandma Luehne.

A member of the NRA and the US Tactical Shooting Association, he enjoyed target shooting. He met many friends while being a member of the Eagles Club. Michael grew closer to God as a member of the First Baptist Church. He spent many hours at the Star Plunge and learned to swim at a young age. He enjoyed spending time outdoors by hunting, fishing, hiking and camping. He also enjoyed helping his mother cook meals and bake cookies. You didn't need to know Michael long to consider him a friend.

In addition to his parents, loved ones remaining include his wife, Lorraine, Casper; sister, Christina, Laramie; grandparents, Christine and Wolfgang Luehne, Thermopolis and Carl and Diann Porath, Texas; his large family includes many loving uncles, aunts, cousins and close friends.

Funeral services will be Saturday, November 21, 10:00 am at the First Baptist Church in Thermopolis with Pastor Harvey Seidel officiating. Burial will follow at Monument Hill Cemetery.

Memorials may be sent in care of Pinnacle Bank, PO Box 1369, Thermopolis, 82443, to establish a scholarship for a student pursuing an aviation degree.
