CASPER (AP) — Authorities say two Wyoming men were able to escape from their truck after it plunged through thin ice.
KTWO-AM reports that the two Fremont County residents were ice fishing at Boysen Reservoir this weekend and drove their F-350 Ford truck across the ice after dark. The ice broke and the truck’s cab slid into the water, hitting the bottom and preventing the entire vehicle from going under.
The driver was able to kick out the back window after four attempts. The men made it to a nearby campsite where they found shelter and warmth. No critical injuries have been reported.
So far, attempts to remove the truck from the reservoir have failed.
