Tracie Mitchell count
An employee of a towing company shores up ropes to haul a semi tractor off of U.S. Highway 16 Friday morning. The tractor has been stuck off the road since Saturday, Jan. 16. According to Wyoming Highway Patrol Trooper John Hoffman, the one-vehicle crash occurred at 8:21 p.m. on Jan. 16 at milepost 42.6. The driver, Abdul Iddris of Worth, Ill., was hauling activated charcoal for Jadow Trucking. Iddris was traveling westbound on US 16 when "for some reason, it was snowy and icy, the driver crossed the center lane, crossed the eastbound lane of travel and went off the left side, traveling 1,400 feet in the right-of-way until the tractor hit a boulder, which then collapsed the tractor under the trailer," Hoffman said. He said a passerby picked up the driver and transported him to a Buffalo hospital where he was treated and released.
