Bid awarded to add air conditioning to theater, weight room, gym
WORLAND – The Washakie County School District No. 1 Board awarded a contract bid for air conditioning renovations on Monday night.
Rawhide Mechanical Pluming, a contracting company out of Cody, was awarded the bid for the renovations to the high school’s air conditioning system. The total bid was for $1,360,698, and includes air conditioning renovation on the theater, weight room and main gym.
Currently, the newer additions to the high school are air conditioned, Washakie County School District Business Manager Jack Stott said. The newer additions include the school’s technology lab, science wing and music wing.
“Everything constructed prior to the 1990s is not air conditioned,” Stott said. “This job air conditions the remaining parts of the school.”
The school air conditioning will also become digitized.
Stott said Rawhide Mechanical will digitize the air conditioning controls for better monitoring and adjusting capacity.
These renovations would put most of the school air conditioned, except for the back gym and some shops, Stott said.
The work will take two seasons and the board expects it to be completed in August 2017.
