WORLAND - A Burlington Northern-Santa Fe driver escaped without injury when his trailer with a loader broke loose from his truck on U.S. Highway 20 south of Worland Tuesday.
According to Wyoming Highway Patrol Trooper Elliott Vandenberg, Travis White, 34, of Worland, was driving a BNSF railroad truck with trailer hauling a loader northbound on U.S. 20. The "weld broke on the truck, the trailer came unhitched and then the trailer ran into the (Gooseberry Creek) bridge, flipped over and went into the other lane of travel."
The crash occurred about 9:40 a.m. at milepost 156 near the junction of U.S. 20 and Wyoming Highway 431 and Wyoming 432.
Vandenberg said there was one lane of traffic right at the bridge until the trailer could be removed. He said it took about two hours for the scene to get cleaned up and traffic to return to two lanes.
The Worland Ambulance, Washakie County Sheriff's Office and Worland Fire responded to the scene as well.
Vandenberg said no citations were issued.
