Bike path signs stolen

WORLAND — The Washakie County Sheriff’s Office issued a notice to all Airport Road residents Wednesday regarding bike path signs being stolen.

Sheriff Steve Rakness said unknown suspect or suspects are “taking down and stealing the small bike path signs that the county has posted along the bike path route.”

He said the incidents have been random, with some signs stolen about three months ago and then another incident this past weekend.

Washakie County Road and Bridge Supervisor Randy Chenoweth said the signs are about $80 apiece to replace with about five signs taken this last time. “This is like the third time in the last two years so any information would be appreciated,” he said.

Rakness said they are asking residents, especially Airport Road residents if they have any information or observe anything unusual, to please call the Law Enforcement Center at 307-347-2242.
