History Day competition Wednesday

Public can view projects Tuesday night

WORLAND - Worland seventh and eighth graders will be competing in the local History Day competition Wednesday morning.

The top two winners in each of the five categories - exhibits (individual and group), historical research paper (individual), documentaries (individual and group), performance (individual and group) and website (individual and group) - advance to the state competition in April, according to eighth-grade history teacher Joe Winkler.

The competition begins at 8:30 a.m. and lasts until about noon, Winkler said. He said there will be judges who will interview each student about their project and then review their project/watch the performance or documentary and judge accordingly.

Prior to Wednesday's competition, the students will have their exhibits and projects on display for parents and the public from 5:30 to 7 p.m.
