Worland Democrat seeks House District 27 seat

WORLAND —Robert D. McDonough Jr. filed with the Wyoming Secretary of State’s office, seeking the Democratic nomination for State House District 27.

The seat is currently held by Rep. Mike Greear (R-Worland). Greear announced last week that he filed his paperwork to seek his fourth term.

McDonough Jr., who moved to Worland three years ago, said he is “running to give the people of Washakie County a choice between the continued the non-policy of Republican Party and doing something for the people for a change.”

Nathan Winters (R-Thermopolis) is the lone candidate to date to retain his seat for House District 28.

There are currently no filings for House District 26, being vacated at the end of this year with the retirement of Rep. Elaine Harvey (R-Lovell).

On the State Senate side, Ron Harvey of Worland and Wyatt Agar of Thermopolis, have filed for the Republican nomination for Senate District 20. Gerald Geis (R-Worland) announced earlier this year he would be retiring at the end of his current term. Senate District 20 encompasses south Big Horn County, Washakie County, Hot Springs County, Meeteetse in Park County and Shoshoni and Lysite in Fremont County.
