Nurse and Wyoming health agency official face drug charges

CHEYENNE (AP) — The former president of the Wyoming Board of Nursing and a senior Wyoming Department of Health official face felony charges alleging illegal delivery of a prescription painkiller.

The Laramie County District Attorney’s Office last week filed a charge against Cynthia Woods of Wheatland alleging illegal delivery of hydrocodone.

An official at the Wyoming Board of Nursing says Woods resigned last week as board president.

Cheyenne lawyer Marci Bramlet represents Woods. Bramlet declined comment Tuesday.

Prosecutors also charged Eric Daniel McVicker with being an accessory to delivery of the drug. Court records identify McVicker as chief financial officer of the Wyoming Department of Health.

Records don’t reflect McVicker has an attorney yet.

A law enforcement statement filed in court states McVicker and Woods told investigators she had given him the drug.
