Worland resident avoids falling prey to phone scam

WORLAND — Quick wit and quick thinking by Worland resident Lorna Hughley prevented her from falling victim to a phone call scam Tuesday.

Hughley said she has a cell phone and a landline and the call came in on her cell phone, which she thought strange to begin with.

The caller said he was with Publisher’s Clearing House, which he was not, and that she had just won $280,000. That all sounded great...
