Former Worland resident Jessie Trujillo Martinez, 70, of Aurora, CO, died peacefully at her home Thursday, June 2, 2016.
She was born Oct. 14, 1945, the oldest daughter of Mecho "Mitch" and Catalina "Katie" Trujillo. She attended Worland schools, graduating with the class of 1964.
Jessie was married to Richard Martinez in June 1969, and to the union two children were born, George and Tricia.
She worked at Prairie Middle School for a number of years as a nurse technician. She loved to make cakes for family, friends, and co-workers to celebrate special events, always leaving a smile on someone's face. She was an avid Denver Bronco fan, collecting any type of Bronco memorabilia.
She was preceded in death by her parents, and brothers George, Manuel, and Ralph Trujillo.
Survivors include her husband Richard, children George (Rebecca) and Tricia, and grandchildren Gabrielle, Taylor, Sydney, and Gracey, all of Aurora; sisters Ruth (John) Elliott, Lucy Trujillo, both of Worland, Esther (George) Miller, of Aurora; brothers Robert (Jean) of Hot Springs, SD, Tom (Barb) of Worland, Mike (Kyle) of Lander; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Cremation has taken place and interment will be at the Trujillo family plot, Riverview Memorial Gardens in Worland, Saturday, June 25, 2016, 1 p.m., with Fr. Ray Rodriguez presiding. A celebration of life luncheon will follow at the home of Jessie's niece and her husband, Amber and Moi Vega. Turn north from Culbertson Ave. on South First St. (next to old river bridge), first house on the left. It is on the same block where Jessie and her siblings grew up.
