Worland duo in top 10 at International Festival

WORLAND – Worland High School’s drama duet of Daniel Igleheart and Sariah Durrant placed in the top seven for duets at the International Thespian Festival in Lincoln, Neb., Thursday evening.

Worland High School drama coach Rick Dorn is proud of the duo’s achievement. “I’m very proud of them. They worked on this piece all year and they never stopped trying to perfect it,” he said.

Wednesday evening the duo was called back for a second look, for the judges to decide if they would perform in the showcase. “At this point they are the only Wyoming team still going,” Dorn stated, “and one of 11 still competing,” he added.

Being in the top seven at the festival is indeed a tremendous honor. “We may not have been able to showcase, but the fact that someone from Worland (let alone Wyoming) made it to the top seven duet performers in the entire nation is really amazing,” Igleheart stated.

The experience has cemented Durrant’s decision to go into acting as a career after schooling. “With all honesty this has been an amazing experience for me. At first when I found out that I had been posted in call backs, I was ecstatic. Now I feel as though I really belong here in this specific theatrical community. I crave the feeling of performing and making others laugh. This entire week has proven to me that I most certainly want to have a career in acting,” she said.
