Ruby E. Rabun, 84, of Worland, Wyoming passed away on July 3, 2016. She was born on September 13, 1931 in Huntley, Wyoming, a daughter of Hattie Pearl (Jones) and Albert Alonzo Bohannon.
She was raised in southeast Wyoming. She met Raymond M. Rabun and the couple were married on September 18, 1947 in Guernsey, Wyoming. They lived in Wheatland, Wyoming where she continued her education. In 1949 the family moved to Worland where her husband was employed in the oilfields.
Ruby went to work at Washakie Memorial Hospital in the surgery department. In 1973 she started working for Dr. Richard M. Rush as his office manager and bookkeeper. She retired from that job in 2004.
Ruby was a longstanding member of the First Southern Baptist Church in Worland where she had taught Sunday school for 28 years, and was part of a Bible study group.
Her hobbies included watching TV, bowling with her friends, and playing cards with her neighbors.
She was preceded in death by her parents, by her husband Ray, by five sisters and one brother, and a granddaughter Tiffany Rabun.
Ruby is survived by her sons John G. (Teri) Rabun of Douglas, Wyoming and Donald R. (Brenda) Rabun of Worland, Wyoming; by her granddaughters Amber (Ryan) Clark and April (Marc) Bradshaw of Worland, and her grandson Dustin Rabun of Salt Lake City, Utah; by her great-grandsons Carter, Caden and Jaxton Clark, Kobe, Tyce and Hoyt Bradshaw and Aiden Rabun. She is also survived by her brother Harry (Billie) Bohannon of Cheyenne, Wyoming and her sister Lillian Williams of Willows, California.
Her funeral service will be on Thursday, July 8th at 10:00 AM at First Southern Baptist Church with Pastor Dale Thompson officiating. Burial will follow at Riverview Memorial Gardens Cemetery in Worland.
