Serving the Big Horn Basin for over 100 years
Elizabeth Rita Hernandez, 51, of Worland, Wyoming passed away July 1, 2016 at St. Vincent Healthcare in Billings, MT.
She was born on July 10, 1964 in Worland, a daughter of Polly (Torrez) and San Juan Hernandez.
She enjoyed cooking, cleaning, and telling stories of when she was a youngster. She enjoyed spending time with her family and friends whether it was on the farm branding, or at a party singing and dancing. She also could enjoy just staying home to play cards and laugh with her family.
But, due to her illness, she wasn't able to enjoy a lot of the things she used to enjoy. She found comfort in collecting dolls and riding her scooter in town. She liked to keep up with her family and friends via Facebook, but her pride and joy was taking care of her fur babies, especially her dog Chavo.
She was preceded in death by her parents; by her sisters Monica Gomez and Mary Hernandez; and by three brother-in-law's.
Elizabeth was the beloved partner of her life, Francisco "Chico" Deniz. She was the devoted mother of her daughters Amanda (Jose) Hernandez, Cindy (Manuel) Rodriguez and Cassie (Ricardo) Rodriguez. She is further survived by her siblings Rosemary (Clarence) Moore, Jimmy (Joyce) Hernandez, Jesse (Shelly) Hernandez, Lupe (Sharon) Hernandez, George (DJ) Hernandez, Sally Garcia, Virgie Hernandez, Raymond Hernandez, Frank Hernandez, Bella (Victor) Mendoza, Paula (Richard) Urioste, and Johnny (Suzzanna) Hernandez.
She also was a loving and caring grandmother to 10 grandchildren: Alex, Maria, Eliz, Araceli, Mikaela, Azalea, Mateo, Ricardo, Roberto and Xiomara. She also loved and cared deeply for Chico's children and grandchildren. Also surviving are numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins.
Her Memorial Mass will be celebrated on Friday, July 8th at 11:00AM at St. Mary Magdalen Catholic Church. Interment of the cremains will follow at Riverview Memorial Gardens Cemetery in Worland.
