Fatal motorcycle crash near Manderson

MANDERSON — A fatal crash west of Manderson on Aug. 27 has resulted in the death of 51-year-old Scott Hennager from Big Timber, Mont. The crash occurred at 4:39 p.m. on Saturday near mile post 186 on US Highway 20 approximately two miles west of Manderson.   

Hennager was operating a 2014 Harley-Davidson motorcycle while traveling west on US 20 when the motorcycle drifted off the roadway to the north. After leaving the highway, the motorcycle vaulted over an irrigation ditch and collided with a sign. 

Hennager was thrown from the motorcycle, was not wearing a helmet and sustained fatal injuries on scene. 

Alcohol use and driver fatigue are being investigated as contributing factors in this crash that marked the 77th highway fatality in Wyoming for 2016. There were 103 fatalities during this same time period in 2015. This crash marked the 19th motorcycle fatality in Wyoming for 2016.
