THS cross-country keeps it rolling

RIVERTON - The Thermopolis High School cross-country team continued their hot streak at the Berry Bryant / Kyle Johnson memorial cross-country meet in Riverton Thursday night.

Led by senior Jules Ward the Lady Bobcats won the meet going against the likes of Lander, Riverton, Mountain View, Wyoming Indian and St. Stephens.

Ward also placed second overall with a time of 20:06, while teammates freshman McKenna Bomengen finished fourth, freshman Tahja Hunt came in at seventh and senior Stacy Lewis was 12th.

THS cross-country coach Brenna Abel was proud of how well her team performed. "Our varsity girls had a great day in Riverton. We had excellent running conditions and a flat course which allowed our team to run well.

"Liz Rhodes had a great day with a career personal record as did Olivia Weyer. Stacy Lewis posted her fastest time of the season. Jules (Ward) was helping pull her teammates through second mile on pace, she did a great job modeling this for our underclassmen," said coach Abel.

The Thermopolis Middle School team also competed at the Berry Bryant / Kyle Johnson memorial and coach Abel, who is also the middle school coach, saw improvement with her younger runners.

"We had a great day with lots of in-season personal records," said coach Abel, "Our middle school girls team is doing a great job with limited space between them."
