Serving the Big Horn Basin for over 100 years

Kimberly Sue Tolman

Our precious, loving Kimberly Sue Tolman passed away in Thermopolis, Wyoming on Wednesday, September 21, 2016 at age 58.

Kim was born on August 22, 1958 in Worland, Wyoming, a daughter of Lonna A. (Atkinson) and Marvin H. Tolman. She grew up in Worland and loved to spend time with her dad on the Tolman Ranch where she could ride her horse, "Paint." She liked raising "bum" lambs, and all of the ranch animals. Being at the ranch meant that she was with her dad!

At a young age she started living in Thermopolis, Wyoming as one of the first students of Big Horn Basin Children's Center. She later became one of Big Horn Enterprises first clients where she learned independent life skills. Kim was able to live independently in her own apartment for about 10 years. She worked at the Holiday Inn in Thermopolis and also enjoyed working for Big Horn Enterprises on independent projects.

Kim was fond of country music and watching TV. She was active, and a successful participant, in Special Olympics where she competed in swimming, bowling, track, and alpine skiing.

Going home to celebrate her birthdays and Christmas with her family was very special to her. She had a great personality and loved to joke around and tease her family. She brought great joy to everyone who met her, and most of all to her family!

She was preceded in death by her grandparents; by her father Marvin in 1977; and by her nephews Vance and Justin Roady.

Kim is survived by her mother Lonna Tolman, and by her sister Marla Tolman and by her brother Kirk Tolman all of Worland; by her special family friend Don Hampton; by her nieces and nephews- Cameron (Jill) Roady of Worland, Julie Dengel of Lewistown, Montana, Raeth Tolman of Worland and Coy Tolman of Boulder, Colorado; and by several cousins, and a lot of friends in Thermopolis, including her special caregiver Sis Mead.

The funeral service for Kim will be held on Tuesday, September 27th, at 2:00 PM at the Worland L.D.S. Stake Center. Burial will follow at Riverview Memorial Gardens Cemetery in Worland.

Memorials may be made to Big Horn Enterprises – 641 Warren Avenue – Thermopolis, Wyoming 82443.
