David A. Godfrey

David Abe Godfrey, a longtime Big Horn Basin resident passed away Saturday, October 1, 2016 in Billings, Montana. He was 68.

Dave was born on October 17, 1947 in Heber City, Utah, the eldest child of Sidney and Mary Jones Godfrey. He was raised in Hyattville and graduated from Manderson-Hyattville High School in1966.

On June 28, 1968 he married Linda Lee Schwartz in Worland, Wyoming. Their marriage was sealed in the Idaho Falls L.D.S. Temple on August 12, 1976. Linda preceded Dave in death on March 4, 1986.

Dave spent his early working years logging with his dad in the Big Horn Mountains. He then worked for over 30 years for Admiral Beverages in Worland.

His hobbies included the history of World War II, hunting, and he very much enjoyed his calling as a Scout Master for Boy Scout Troop 25.

Dave was preceded in death by his parents Sid and Mary Godfrey, by his wife Linda, and by his brother Allen Godfrey.

Survivors include his children Bobbie (Les) Moore of Worland, WY, Jake (Shawna) Godfrey of Sidney, Montana and Joe (Grace) Godfrey of Worland, WY; by his brothers Brent (Kristine) Godfrey of Basin, WY and Sid (Fonree) Godfrey of Phoenix, AZ; and by his sister Sheila (Carl) Lincoln of Elko, NV. He is also survived by his grandchildren Mathew and Chris (Ayla) Moore; Kendra (James) Glass and Kali and Kasey Godfrey; and by his great grandchildren Alayna, Cooper and Carter Moore; and Letty Buxbaum.

The funeral service will be held on Friday, October 7, 2016 at 11:00 AM at the L.D.S. Stake Center in Worland. Burial will follow at Riverview Cemetery in Worland.
