Greear honored as Legislator of the Year

LARAMIE — The Wyoming County Commissioners Association (WCCA) recently presented the 2016 WCCA Legislator of the Year award to Rep. Mike Greear from House district 27 at their annual fall banquet.

During his time on the Joint Appropriations Committee, Rep. Greear has proven himself to be a workhorse – taking the time necessary to fully understand the complex budget. Rep. Greear clearly values the work of local governments, and his dedication, work ethic, and all around good humor have made him a valuable member of the House of Representatives.

“In the tricky negotiating between members, between the House and the Senate, and with the Governor that takes place during drafting of the State’s budget, Rep. Greear has had our back. And we are grateful,” said WCCA President and Niobrara County Commissioner Richard Ladwig in his remarks.

“Mike is a straight shooter. He will tell you what he thinks about an issue, even if it’s not what you want to hear,” said President Ladwig. “Even when delivering bad news, he’s always a gentleman.”

The WCCA Legislator of the Year award is given to an exceptional member of the Legislature who goes above and beyond for the benefit of all Wyoming citizens.
