WORLAND – The Washakie County Solid Waste Disposal District (WCSWDD) gave updates on scale house construction at their scheduled meeting on Monday evening.
Last month, the landfill received two bids for the concrete work portion for the scale house construction. Work began mid-September with Big Horn Redi Mix for $19,970.80.
WCSWDD Chair Travis Filler said they started framing for concrete work and they hoped to have it dry by Tuesday. At Monday night’s meeting the WCSWDD board approved a motion for additional concrete work for an additional charge to the original amount.
The board hopes to have the scale operational by Dec. 1.
Other business
The board also discussed having a public hearing to have a discussion to go to yardage to tonnage. No official date was set. They also approved a motion to transfer money into the operations account to cover bills for this month.
Last month, the board approved a motion to pay the monthly bills contingent on more information about one Inberg-Miller Engineers bill. Filler previously said Inberg-Miller is doing a lot of work for the landfill on various projects and they want to make sure what the bill is for.
The bill amount was one of three bill payments in the amount of $105,540 for water wells testing, soil testing and sampling and part of it was for the performance based design. Filler said this bill amount will probably be the highest.
Board member Tom Youngquist was absent.
