TEN SLEEP - On Sept. 30 the Ten Sleep Lady Pioneers lost to the Meeteetse Lady Longhorns 3-0. Saturday morning the Lady Pioneers returned the favor by defeating the Lady Longhorns 3-0 at Ten Sleep Gymnasium. Going against rival Meeteetse High School for their homecoming match, the Lady Pioneers showed grit and passion in their homecoming win. It was back and forth between TSHS and MHS in game one but a 15-4 run by Ten Sleep gave them the 25-15 victory and a one game advantage. Game two the Lady Pioneers used a 7-0 start to pull out a hard fought 25-20 game two victory. With the Lady Longhorns on the ropes the Lady Pioneers wasted little time in gaining the advantage in game three, going up 6-3. Ten Sleep would keep Meeteetse at a safe distance until an injury to Ten Sleep's Bryley Moore rattled the Lady Pioneers, allowing for the Lady Longhorns to get back in the game. Meeteetse took a 17-15 lead and looked to be taking control of the game, but after a time out by Ten Sleep volleyball coach Desiree Egger, Ten Sleep regrouped and hit the court with a look of determination. Led by Maddie Anderson, Lexie Boltz and Allison Hampton the Lady Pioneers battled back to take a 22-21 lead. With victory in reach Ten Sleep was focused and sharp as they closed out the Lady Longhorns in game three by a score of 26-24, winning the match 3-0. With only two games remaining until the 1A West Regional Tournament on Oct. 28 and 29 in Lander, the Lady Pioneers travel to Burlington Friday in a matchup with the Lady Huskies. Then close out the regular season in Dubois against the Lady Rams on Saturday.
