Serving the Big Horn Basin for over 100 years
Clarence Udie Moore Jr, more known by family and friends as "C-Moore" passed away on October 23, 2016 at the age of 67 in the Wyoming Retirement Center in Basin, Wyoming.
Clarence was born to Clarence U. Moore Sr. and Geraldine L. (Wray) Moore in Lovell, Wyoming March 15, 1949. As a child he lived in Bonneville and Shoshoni before residing in Thermopolis where he graduated in 1968. After graduation, he enlisted in the U.S. Army Medical Core where he served until he was honorably discharged in 1971.
Clarence later moved to Cheyenne where he worked as a nurse in the VA hospital. He continued serving in the Wyoming National Guard until being honorably discharged in 1977. That year he returned to Thermopolis where he worked at TRW Reda Pump for seventeen years. During those seventeen years at TRW Reda Pump, Clarence was able to travel to Canada and Libya.
Clarence then worked for an oilfield distributing company prior to coming to Worland, where he was employed by the WYDOT as a heavy equipment operator for 20 years until retiring in 2008. At that time, he resided at the Wyoming Retirement Home until his passing.
Clarence enjoyed hunting, classic country music, dancing, reading, but most of all he enjoyed playing cowboy amongst his family and friends; lending a helping hand to whomever needed it.
Clarence is proceeded in death by his father Clarence U. Moore Sr. and his mother Geraldine L. Wray Moore.
Clarence is survived by his loving wife Rosemary Moore, his son Paul Moore of El Paso, TX, by his brother David E. (Mary) Moore of Warsaw, IN, and his sister Carol (Bud) Faith of Thermopolis, WY. Step children, Ruth (Scott) August of Billings, MT, Cynthia (David) Barker of Worland, WY, Dean Mercado of Cheyenne, WY, Stephanie (Jim) Engel of Worland, WY. Eleven grandchildren and five great grandchildren, 3 nieces and two nephews.
A grave side service with military honors will be held on Friday October 28, 2016 at 11:00 a.m. at the Riverside Cemetery in Worland, Wyoming. A dinner will follow afterward at the Worland Community Center.
