Worland, WY…….Arlene Blakesley, age 85, of Worland, Wyoming passed away Monday, December 12, 2016 at Riverton Memorial Hospital in Riverton, Wyoming.
Norma Arlene Blakesley was born October 5, 1931 in Hay Springs, Nebraska to Arthur Henry and Ethel Mae (Nicholson) Schildhauer. She moved to Greybull as a sophomore in high school where she graduated from Greybull High School.
Arlene married Lee Blakesley on June 17, 1950 in Greybull, Wyoming. They moved to Worland in 1965. She worked as a waitress and worked as a meat wrapper at Jon’s IGA in Worland. She was an excellent cook, especially her fried chicken. Arlene loved visiting with her grandchildren and enjoyed woodworking, crafts, gardening, and flowers.
Arlene was a member of the Order of Eastern Star, Lewisia Chapter #16 of Basin, Wyoming.
Arlene is preceded in death by her parents, Art and Ethel Schildhauer; her husband, Lee Blakesley; her son, Bruce Blakesley; her sisters, Ila and Joanne; and her brothers, Keith, Curtis, and Duane.
Arlene is survived by her sons, Terry, Kevin, Mark, and Randy Blakesley; her daughters, Diana Mahoney and Patti Evenson; ten grandchildren; twelve great-grandchildren; and her sisters, Lois Emmett and Evelyn Uber.
Per Arlene’s wishes, cremation has taken place and no services are planned.
IN LIEU OF FLOWERS, memorials may be made in Arlene’s name to the American Cancer Society for throat cancer research.
