Charlene Kay Weber

Charlene Kay Weber, 76, of Meeteetse, passed away at West Park Hospital's Long Term Care Center on December 27, 2016.

Charlene was the daughter of Frank and Annie Mae Tolman, born August 18, 1940 in Worland, WY in the back of a garage. Kay grew up in Tensleep, WY on the Tolman Sheep Company ranch where she loved every aspect of the ranch life. If you asked neighbors in the area they would say she was at home on the back of any horse. She spent her childhood taking care of bum lambs, milking cows, herding the sheep and moving cows with her dad.

Kay graduated from Worland High School in 1958 and attended a couple of years of college in Casper. Upon returning home she married Ronald Keeler from Tensleep. They moved to Roswell, NM where their daughter Ronee Kay was born in 1962. Later they moved back to Worland and their son Franklin David was born 1967. In 1970 they divorced and in 1971, Kay and Jake Weber were married and the family lived on a farm in Worland, WY. She drove barley and beet trucks in Worland, and they later moved to Meeteetse, WY where they purchased the Blue Ribbon Bar and made lots of friends. After a couple of years they sold the bar and. In 1973 she became a part time clerk for the Forest Service however she wanted to work more hours so she went to work for Lewis & Sons. 1977 Kay went to work at the public library, Kay missed the Forest Service family and in 1984 she was offered a job back with the Forest Service at the Greybull Ranger District in Meeteetse. In

1988 the she was asked to support the Wyoming Interagency Fire Coordination Center in Cody, WY during the summer months where she spent long hours away from home dispatching for wildland fires until 1995. At that time she retired with 20 years of service.. Kay would often take back country trips anything to get out of the office to get back on a horse.

Her main passion in life was the Tolman Ranch, her kids, and grandkids. She would spend every summer after her retirement at the ranch and stay until it got too cold to stay up there. Then Kay spent the winter going to her grandkids' basketball games and waiting impatiently for the summer so she could return to the ranch.

Kay has gone to be with her father (Frank), in heaven, as we used to say "To Whip and Spur!!"

She is survived by her mother Annie Mae Tolman, daughter Ronee Kay Hogg, son Frank (Wendy) Keeler, grandkids Michael J & Kurt P Hogg, Kaytlyn Elsie & Karson D Keeler, Great granddaughter Mia Jolee Hogg, sisters DeeAnna Rogers, Pamela (Jack) Haggerty, brothers Dan (Vickie) Tolman, and Craig (Verna) Tolman, numerous nieces and nephews.
