Leoni (Schoelzel) Wilkinson, (82), of Post Falls, Idaho, passed away on January 2, 2017 at the Coeur d'Alene hospital. She was born on April 15, 1934 in Mittel-Faulbrueck , West Germany, to Herbert Schoelzel and Helene Jelsch. She was one of six children (one son and five daughters).
She married John Wilkinson on September 6, 1961, in Germany. They, then move to the United States. Their final home was in Post Falls, Idaho, to where they moved in 2001. She touched the hearts of many by her thoughtfulness in remembering her neighbors and the nurses in her doctor's office, at Christmastime and birthdays, by sharing her handicrafts, such as crocheted embossed hand towels and knitted or crocheted blankets.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her brother (Manferd), and her two sisters (Herta and Barbara).
She is survived by her son Frank (Jeanette) of Eagle River, Alaska, grandsons Cory and Brian of Palmer, Alaska, and sisters Eleanor Moore of Marysville, Washington and Anita Heusner of Germany.
She was placed to rest with her husband (John) on January 6, 2017 at the Veterans Cemetery in Medical Lake, Washington.
