THERMOPOLIS — Old Man Winter wreaked havoc on school schedules for Thermopolis Tuesday.

According to a message on the school website, “Due to hazardous travel conditions and accumulating snow, Hot Springs County School District #1 will not be in session today January 24. Please be safe, and classes will resume as normal tomorrow if weather and safety permit.

According to the National Weather Service Thermopolis had received eight inches of snow by noon on Tuesday with the Owl Creek SNOTEL site measuring as much as nine inches.

The NWS listed two inches for the snowfall in Worland and up to four inches in Ten Sleep. Greybull and Basin measured less than an inch, according to the NWS.
