Wing Challenge Winners DAILY NEWS/Karla Pomeroy Robert McDonough Jr. ate his way to first place in the 2017 Blair's Hot Wing Challenge Saturday with 1.55 pounds of "super hot" wings made at the deli. McDonough won a $100 Blair's gift certificate. Taking second was Eddie Borrelli with 1.17 pounds, winning a $50 certificate and third place went to Bill Bargerson Jr. with .9 pounds, winning a $25 certificate. There were two other competitors, Todd Royal with .75 pounds eaten and Caleb Workman with .47 pounds. McDonough said the key to success was finding the largest wings with the most meat. A full bucket of wings and an empty bucket were weighed prior to the contest for each contestant. Both buckets were then weighed at the end to determine how much each contestant had consumed.
