Serving the Big Horn Basin for over 100 years
Frank G. Walling went to be with our Lord on February 6, 2017 at the age of 95. He was born in Walsh, Colorado to Oliver and Winifred Walling on August 10, 1921. Frank was raised by his mom and step dad William Henry Harrison Stover.
Frank joined the Army on September 7, 1941, he served in the armored division all the way through World War II.
He married and to that union his dearly loved daughter Laura Elizabeth was born. They later were divorced. After leaving the Army he enlisted in the Air Force. Frank worked on the atom bomb in the United States and in Europe, he also worked on the 3rd stage of all the moon rockets. He said he put his stamp on every moon rocket. He married Marie they moved to Folsom, California later to Wheeler, Oregon where they bought a motel. After Marie died he met Lavina Miller they moved to Thermopolis, Wyoming, because of the Hot Springs. When she became ill they moved to Worland. He is survived by his grandsons James and Bobby Brisbin, niece Denise Lewis, and nephews Ralph and Wesley All.
Frank was a loving giving person, loved by all of his caretakers and friends. We will miss you our friend.
A graveside service will be held on Saturday, February 11, 2017 at 11 A.M. at Riverview Memorial Gardens Cemetery in Worland, Wyoming. Military honors will be provided by Post #44. Following the graveside service a reception will be held at the home of Laura Slye, 916 Coburn Ave., Worland. Arrangements have been entrusted to Veile Mortuary.
