Grace Virginia Busch

Lifelong Worland resident Grace Virginia Busch passed away on March 15th, 2017 at the age of 88.

Grace was born in Worland on January 13, 1929 to Mayben and Bessie (Reed) Rhodes.

Grace attended Durkee and Manderson schools. On March 26th, 1945 she married George H. Busch Jr. at the age of 16. The couple farmed with George Busch Sr. and family until they were able to farm on their own. Grace bore two children, Carol and Gary, and the family of four farmed together, working hard and making many wonderful memories. Grace was a hard worker. She raised a family and kept a home where hauling water to cook and clean was a daily struggle. She also contributed her equal share in the farm work as she drove trucks and tractors, set water and handled the bookkeeping. Grace had many fond memories of the weekend dances where everyone in the valley would come together and socialize. After George passed away, she and her son Gary carried on farming until recent years.

Grace was a member of Zion Lutheran Church and for many years was also a member of Today's Homemakers. She also served on the Hanover Canal Board for many, many years and served as president for several terms.

Grace deeply loved not only her close family but also the large extended family she was blessed to have. She was very fond of big family gatherings with lots of food, laughter and socializing. In later years, when her health started to fail, she enjoyed reading, keeping up with her grandchildren, growing beautiful flowers and tendering her cats.

Preceding her in death were her parents, husband George, beloved daughter Carol Boos, brother Allen Rhodes, nephews John Lass, John Rhodes, Rex Rhodes and brothers-in-law Bob Lass, Harold Busch and Bob Busch.

Grace is survived by her son and daughter-in-law Gary and Val Busch, son-in-law Cliff Boos, grandchildren Misty Boos and Jesse Busch, sister Frances Lass, brothers Tom (Linda) Rhodes and Bob (Mary Jane) Rhodes and numerous cousins, nieces, and nephews.

The funeral services will be held Monday March 20th at 10:30 AM at Zion Lutheran Evangelical Church with Dr. Partelow officiating. Viewing will be at the church starting at 8:30 AM.

Burial will follow at Riverview memorial Gardens Cemetery in Worland.
