Serving the Big Horn Basin for over 100 years
WORLAND - In preparation for the Relay For Life event scheduled for July 8, the Big Horn Basin Relay For Life board is holding a kickoff at 6 p.m. Friday in the Fraternal Order of Eagles building at 701 S. Railway Ave., in Worland.
“We are going to be welcoming teams and giving them ideas for fundraisers. We will have a mock campsite and luminary ceremony so that the teams can see what to anticipate the night of Relay For Life,” Relay For Life Chair Amy Reid said. “We have incorporated Thermopolis this year so we are truly the Big Horn Basin Relay For Life. We have Thermopolis, Greybull, Manderson, Ten Sleep, Hyattville and Worland so we are truly looking for teams from all over the Basin,” she added.
During the kickoff there will also be an award celebration. Reid stated that the Big Horn Basin Relay For Life received an award for raising the most money per capita in Wyoming.
A registration booth will be available during the kickoff but interested participants can register at any time. “If people are interested in having a team we highly recommend that they come to the kickoff to find out what Relay is about. We can get them registered there or give them tips and tools about how to register in the future,” Reid said.
