Celebrity Chef Mark Anthony performing Wednesday evening

WORLAND - Celebrity Chef Mark Anthony, sponsored by the Seventh-Day Adventist Church, is giving a presentation at the Worland Community Center Complex Wednesday evening at 6 p.m. Anthony, who has catered to celebrities such as Jack Nicklaus, Joan Jett, Molly Hatchet, Jerry Brown, Journey, Jethro Tull, Bad Company, REO Speedwagon, Kansas and Billy Squire, will be stopping in Worland for one performance on his tour of Wyoming.

“He’s willing to go just about anywhere and he was able to schedule us along with quite a few other churches in Wyoming. So he is coming and kind of doing a tour of Wyoming this July,” Seventh-Day Adventist Church member Annette Treat said.

During the event Anthony will discuss plant-based health nutrition, weight loss, lower cholesterol and ways to increase energy along with cooking tips laced with humor. “I had seen him a couple years ago, he came to our area [Missouri] and I went to see him and I thought, ‘He’s just amazing, he’s funny, he’s smart, and he gives really good ideas for eating more healthy’ and I just thought that it would be nice for him to come here,” event organizer Kathy Weigand said. “He travels all over the country,” she added.

The event is free of charge and a free dinner is included. According to Anthony’s website, he has done cooking shows in every single state in the country and he has never charged for any of these events. They are free to the organizations, and they are free to all the people attending.
