Muriel F. Gerstner, age 96, passed away peacefully on July 19 at her beloved Big Trails Ranch. This ranch was homesteaded by her grandfather in the late 1800's. The majority of her life was spent in the house built by her Dad in 1904.
Muriel was born on December 20, 1920 in Auburn, New York to John Earley and Norma Grout Earley. She married Louie Gerstner on November 25, 1946. Five children were born to this marriage.
Muriel was the quiet, loving matriarch of our large and extended family. She has an ever and abiding faith in the Catholic Church, the National Republican Party and the Chicago Cubs.
She was predeceased by her parents, John and Norma; her husband, Louie; her sister, Lillian Williams; and brother, John Earley. She is survived by her younger sister, Mary Lou Asire of Casper, Wyoming; Children - John (Laura) Gerstner of Big Trails; Jeannie (Bruce) Lambeth of Billings, MT; Lonna Gerstner of Pocatello, Idaho; Steven (Doris) Gerstner of Billings, MT. and Michael (Caren) Gerstner of Ft. Collins, Colorado; eighteen grandchildren and thirty-eight great grandchildren; and her Nephews, Bill and Kevin Williams and Garry Asire.
Muriel was a true friend to so many and will be missed. A life well lived.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. Mary Magdalen Catholic Church of Worland, 1099 Charles Avenue, on Tuesday, July 25, 2017 at 10:30 AM with longtime family friend Father Tom Ogg as Celebrant. A viewing for family and friends will be held prior to the service at 9:00AM-10:20AM. A luncheon will be held immediately following the Funeral Mass in the basement of the Church. Graveside services will be held at the Ten Sleep Cemetery at 2:30 PM, Tuesday, July 25, 2017. Arrangements have been entrusted to Veile Mortuary.
