Serving the Big Horn Basin for over 100 years
Lloyd Vernon Hehnke, 60, of Cody, Wyoming went to be with his Heavenly Father on Sunday August 6, 2017, peacefully at home with family by his side, after a year and a half battle with liver cancer.
Lloyd was born in Casper, Wyoming on March 6, 1957 to Howard "Bud" and Bonna (Smith) Hehnke. He graduated from Ten Sleep, Wyoming.
Lloyd was an avid hunter and outdoorsman. His greatest joy was riding around in the badlands with his family. When Lloyd was not working he was in the hills. If there was ever a good hunting story to tell it came from Lloyd. He loved teaching his family and friends how to trap and hunt and passing on the knowledge. As a senior in high school Lloyd started his rodeo adventure that last about 10 years.
Lloyd was preceded in death by his father Bud and an infant brother Clyde Lee. He is survived by his wife Teresa (Moore) Hehnke, daughters Chelsey (Lee) and Kayla (Raymond) along with 3 grandchildren. Mother Bonna Hehnke and her twin Aunt Vonna Smith (his second mom). Brother Ron Hehnke (Donna), and several nieces, nephews and cousins. He is also survived by Mother-in-law (Sandy Voss).
Lloyd was employed at the Gypsum Plant in Cody for the last 10 years until he was no longer able to work.
A celebration of life was held at the United Pentecostal Church of Cody on Wednesday August 9, 2017 with Pastor Kaleb Wheeler officiating.
