Nora Eckstrom

Nora Eckstrom, 86, passed away on July 17, 2017 at the Worland Healthcare and Rehab Center.

Nora was born on November 6, 1930 in Plainview, Nebraska to Aron Edward and Melva Martha (Dunaway) Forsberg. She graduated from Plainview High School where she played drums for the marching band.

She married William Alfred Eckstrom of Creighton, Nebraska on December 22, 1949. The couple traveled several states while Bill worked for the railroad before settling in Riverton, Wyoming in the late 50,s. Nora was a homemaker and raised four children. In 1968 they moved to Benson, Minnesota, then to Dawson, Minnesota in 1973 where Nora later owned and operated the Dawson Motel. She then moved to Casper, Wyoming where she worked as a caregiver.

Nora loved art, poetry and her pets. She was fond of fishing, bowling and playing games. She had been a member of the Lutheran Church in Riverton, Wyoming and Benson, Minnesota.

She is preceded in death by her parents, son, William Edward Eckstrom, sisters and their spouses: Sigrid (Lester) Luckert, Gertrude Forsberg, Audrey (Clyde) Mather and Norma Forsberg.

Survivors include her daughters, Belinda Lee (Roger) Barnhill of Worland, Elaine Eileen Eckstrom of Saint Cloud, Minnesota, Mary Kim (Timothy) Dorholt of Champlin, Minnesota, 11 grandchildren, 28 great-grandchildren and 6 great-great grandchildren, brother, Leander Aron (Connie) Forsberg of Lynnwood, Washington.

Cremation has taken place. Graveside services will be held 10:00 a.m., Friday, September 8,2017 at Riverview Memorial Gardens Cemetery with Pastor Timothy Trippel Officiating.
