WORLAND – The Washakie County Sheriff’s Office responded to the scene of an emergency aircraft landing on Tuesday, located in the Enduro oil fields east of Worland.
A Cessna C 182, registered to Meridian Flying Services of Sidney, Mont., was forced to land in the area after the aircraft ran out of fuel while conducting pipeline monitoring operations, according to Washakie County Sheriff Steve Rakness.
According to an initial incident report by the Federal Aviation Administration, Casper, the pilot suffered no injury, although the aircraft executed a “belly landing” rather than deploy the landing gear.
The aircraft was removed from Enduro property on Tuesday.
Meridian Flying and Enduro Operating had no official statement regarding the incident.
Calls to the pilot were not returned by press time Thursday.
