SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (AP) — Police say they’ve found the parents of a newborn left outside a church in Sioux Falls overnight.
Officers found the 2-month-old child in a car seat about 8:45 a.m. Tuesday. Investigators believe the child was left there overnight because he was wet and cold. The National Weather Service says temperatures reached a low of 46 overnight with nearly 3 inches of rain.
The child was placed in protective custody. Police say the parents are a 38-year-old man and a 28-year-old woman from Sioux Falls.
