Mavis Elva Cooper

Mavis Elva Cooper, 98, passed away on October 28, 2017 at the Worland Healthcare and Rehabilitation Center.

Mavis was born in Whitmore California on August 25, 1919 to Albert and Ivy Elva (Pottle) Gifford.

Mavis loved the mountains, made the best pies and was a huge fan of Merle Haggard. The most important aspect of her life was her family. She was a very devoted wife, mother and grandmother.

She was preceded in death by her husband Kenneth, great-grandchild, Reilly Schwann, brother Elton Hufford and sister, Hazel Bartholomew.

She is survived by her children: Barbara Lewis of Cheyenne, WY, Francis Simic of Thermopolis WY and Donald Cooper of Southwick, ID. Survivors also include 6 grandchildren and many great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren

Cremation has taken place and a private memorial service was held on November 1 in Thermopolis. Inurnment will take place at a later date in Chrome, California where she will be laid to rest next to her husband.
