Johnny B is bringing his program to Hot Springs County this Thursday and Friday.
Johnny B will be working in all three schools in Thermopolis Thursday and Friday. There will be a public performance at 7 p.m. Thursday night. Admission is “what you can afford,” with students admitted free.
Johnny B. began playing the piano in 1955 and continually performs in Alaska each summer and throughout the U.S. during the fall and spring. He was classically trained while growing up, played in numerous bands and attended the Berklee College of Music in Boston. From 1979 to 1981, Johnny B. traveled the entire country composing music about our scenic wonders, interesting characters and memorable events. His stylistic approach to performing and composing has no bounds, according to a release.
According to Johnny B.’s website, “The Johnny B. Assembly is all about music, creative writing, social studies, career choices and ‘doing the best you can.’ The program is professional, rousing, educational and entertaining.
“Piano-man Johnny B. has put together a wonderful mix of music and dialog that students and staff love. The presentation aligns with many academic standards. Johnny B.’s many years of teaching in the classroom and over 40 years of performance experience keeps the audience captivated every step of the way.”
