Charles (Chuck) Edson Lewton was born September 23, 1937, to George Sr. and Berniece (Palmer) Lewton. As the eldest of five children, Chuck always felt great responsibility for his family. Whatever he put his hand to he worked diligently and was rewarded with God's blessings. He passed away January 14th in Lake Havasu City, AZ after many years of health problems.
After graduating from Spearfish High School, he served in the 82nd division of the army as a paratrooper. He married Jean Boe in 1960 and they had three sons Kent, Mark and Lon. After many years in business they moved to Ten Sleep, WY in 1963 to Meadowlark Lodge, then bought a ranch there in 1974.
They were blessed with four grandchildren Kodi, Carina, Justin and Amanda whom he loved dearly. Chuck strived to make God the center of his life.
He was preceded in death by his son Mark, parents George Sr. and Berniece, and sister Connie. He is survived by his wife Jean, sons; Kent (Ann) and Lonnie (Dana) all of Ten Sleep. Grandchildren Kodi (Ben) Schwarz, Justin, Carina, and Amanda Lewton. Brothers George Jr. (Judy) of Albuquerque, Ron of Tuscon, sister Patty Johnson of Tuscon, and numerous nieces and nephews.
Family burial will be held now with a celebration of his life later in the spring for friends and family. Arrangements have been entrusted to Veile Mortuary.
