Irene Korneychuk, 96, passed away on Tuesday, January 16, 2018. Irene was born February 28, 1921 to Heinrich and Magdalena Kost in Herreid, SD.
Irene lived and was raised on a farm in South Dakota until her marriage to George on March 5, 1944 in Baker, MT, at which time she moved to his family farm in Fallon County, Montana. Irene had worked as the head cook at 4 B's Restaurant for many years and also cooked at Eagle's Manor, both in Miles City. She was a longtime member of First Southern Baptist Church of Worland. Irene had a green thumb for inside and outside plants and she loved to bowl until she was about 88 years old. She also loved her social life and playing in the Fun Band.
Irene is preceded in death by her parents,11 siblings and her beloved husband George who passed away on April 15, 1998. They were married for 54 years. Irene is survived by her 4 children Teresa (Tessie) Schneider of Montana, her son Kenneth (Majorie Ann) of Texas, Janeen Boutelle (Kirby) of Colorado, Cheryle (Sam) Angelo of Worland. Her legacy includes seven grandchildren, 16 great-grandchildren, and one great-great-grandchild.
A funeral service will be held on Saturday, January 27, 2018 at 1:00 P.M. at the Grace Chapel Community Church in Worland with Pastor Louie Pantelis presiding. There will be a reception for family and friends following the service at the church. Private interment will take place in Miles City, Montana at a later date. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to Grace Chapel Building Fund c/o Veile Mortuary P.O. Box 730 Worland, Wyoming. Arrangements have been entrusted to Veile Mortuary.
