WORLAND — Jim Rannells of Basin, author of the book “A Peace That Passes All Understanding” will be the guest speaker at the Mount Calvary Assembly of God Church, Third and Robertson, in Worland this Sunday at 11 a.m.

Rannells and his family live in Basin and are active members of the Baptist church. Before finding the peace he enjoys, Rannells struggled for years with terrible situations, including alcoholism, the car wreck that killed his first wife and the suicide of their teenage son.

Humbly and happily, Rannells in his book recalls some of the bad choices that he made while trying to cope from day to day, to stay alive and raise his daughter, until he, having no other place to go, ran to Jesus. Jesus mended his broken life and gave him, along with other graces, a peace that only God can give.

In an interview with the Daily News last month, Rannells said, ““I have established a peace but it wanes at times. The trials of life will wane that peace, but I found the answer of how to find my way back,”

The public is invited to hear Ranells’ first-hand testimony of what the Lord offers to anyone who comes to Him in his or her need.
