Iro Marie Clark

Iro Marie Clark, 85, of Thermopolis, Wyoming passed away on April 22, 2018 in Worland, Wyoming.

Iro was born on August 10, 1932 to George and Ruby Dye in Valentine, Nebraska. She was the third to the youngest of eight children. The family moved from Nebraska to Casper in 1935. In 1944 the family moved to the Big Horn Basin residing first in Greybull. Iro moved to Worland in 1950 where she resided until 2000 when she moved to Thermopolis.

At the age of 14 after the passing of her father, Iro left school and began babysitting to supplement the family income. She married Bob Clark on October 30, 1952 at the Methodist Church in Worland. Bob and Iro worked and lived on the Coutis Ranch for five years. Bob then took a job with Holly Sugar and later farming for Fred Snyder. The couple worked for Fred Snyder Farm for the next 25 years. Iro loved being on the farm, working alongside her husband. Iro was the mother to two sons, Carl the oldest, who died on July 10, 1969 and Dale who lives in Thermopolis. She has five grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.

Her hobbies included raising a garden every summer and canning fruits and vegetables. She also raised chickens each year and sold eggs to the townspeople. She enjoyed quilting.

Her favorite memories were times spent in the Big Horn Mountains with her family. They loved to camp, fish and rough it while sleeping out under the stars.

Iro is preceded in death by her parents, her husband Bob in 1994, her son Carl in 1969, and Ashley Richardson's brother Danny. She is survived by her brothers Murlin, Hersel, Orvil(Mickey), and Larry; her sisters Naoma, Faustine, and Beverley; her son Dale whom she loves very much; Karen (Tony), who was like a daughter, and she loves them very much as well. She is also survived by her grandkids; Noah and Vieda Richardson, Stepheny Clark, Abigail McDonald, Steven and Ashley Morgan; her great-grandkids Henry and Desmond Richardson, Abigail's 3 daughters, and Jordan, Jayshawn, and Jayshara Morgan.

A memorial mass is scheduled for Monday, April 30, 2018 at 1pm at St. Mary Magdalen Catholic Church, 1099 Charles Avenue Worland, Wyoming. Father Ray Rodriguez will be the Celebrant for the service. Cremation has taken place. Arrangements have been entrusted to Veile Mortuary.
