Bruce Vernon Fritzler

Bruce Vernon

Fritzler, 88, passed away in Casper, Wyoming on Friday, April 27, 2018. Born October 28, 1929 in Worland, Wyoming, he was the son of Henry H. and Edith O. (Bower) Fritzler. He married his high school sweetheart, Stella May Porter, in 1951 and they were loving companions for 67 years.

Bruce graduated from the University of Wyoming in 1952 with an Art degree. He went to work for Pacific Power, starting as a lineman in Worland and ending as the Powder River Division Manager in Casper, where he retired in 1988. He also managed offices in Douglas, Riverton, and Dayton, Washington. He was always active in the communities they lived in, serving with the Chambers of Commerce, Rotary Clubs, Kiwanis Clubs, Lions Clubs, school boards and the Masonic Temple. He and Stella were also faithful members of their churches in those communities. He was fortunate to have 30 years of retirement with Stella, and they moved to their dream cabin in the Wind River Mountains of Dubois and lived there for many years. They traveled widely, visiting their many friends and relatives, and spent winters in sunny Arizona. He loved to fly fish, hunt in the Big Horn and Wind River Mountains, golf, and play cards with his friends, children and grandchildren.

He was dearly loved by his family, and is survived by his wife, Stella; his five children: Lynne Price and her husband Dan, Brad Fritzler, Mark Fritzler and his wife, Carla, Lori Morrow and her husband Tim, and Paul Fritzler and his wife, Leslie. He leaves 9 grandchildren: Hillary Pohlmann, Shelley Price, Meagan Turnbow, Kelsey Carton, Brianne Crossland, Keegan Morrow, Evan Morrow, Rachel Fritzler, and Drew Fritzler. He was also blessed with 6 great grandchildren. He is survived by 3 siblings: Maxine Watson, Sally Sellers, and Robert Fritzler, and brother-in-law Jack Porter and sister-in-law Alice Leadbeater, as well as numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. He had a great sense of humor that warmed the hearts of those around him and he kept it all the way to the end.

A memorial service will be held by the family at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Heart of Wyoming Habitat for Humanity.
