Railroad crossing closure continues

WORLAND — The Wyoming Department of Transportation announced early Wednesday afternoon that the railroad crossing at Fifth and Big Horn Avenue/U.S. 20/Wyoming 789 would continue through today.

The closure at the intersection began Tuesday to repair the railroad crossing by BNSF Railway. WYDOT was also going to complete a project to smooth out the crossing at the same time.

Northbound traffic entering Worland will be detoured on Wyoming 432 (South Flat Road) and West River Road (Wyoming 433). Southbound traffic leaving Worland will be detoured on South Flat Road, according to Wyoming Department of Transportation District Maintenance Engineer Lyle Lamb of Basin.

WYDOT officials said the work would be completed Friday with the intersection opening as early as Friday afternoon.
