Hospital Board elects new officers

WORLAND – Thursday evening during the July Banner Health Washakie Medical Center Hospital Board meeting new officers were elected and the board welcomed Franco Romero as the newest hospital board member, replacing Dan Scheuerman, who retired from the board in June.

Before the election, Dan Scheuerman was chair, Kip Mathison was vice chair, Connie Sweeney was treasurer and Wendy Press Sweeny was secretary. Before voting Sweeney requested to step down from being treasurer, but advised the board that she would be willing to help her replacement in any way.

Board member Gil McEndree asked to not be nominated for any office as he foresees the next year to be quite busy and he may miss meetings due to other obligations.

The board unanimously elected Mathison as chair, Dean Carrell as vice chair, Sweeny as treasurer and Romero as secretary.

Scheuerman, as his last act as chair and a board member, delivered the dedication plaque the board ordered for the hospital. The board decided that the dedication plaque should be placed near the front entrance.
