Arterial Drive to perform at Washakie County Fair Thursday

WORLAND – For anyone who enjoys live music, they would be delighted to know that the Washakie County fair will be continuing its live music tomorrow night with a performance by Arterial Drive.

Arterial Drive is from Billings, Montana. It’s consisted of five members – Drew McDowell on guitar and vocals, Juanillo Chavis on bass and vocals, Meg Gildehaus on violins, congas and vocals, Josh Reedy on drums and Ryan Supola on piano, trumpet and vocals.

The band is consisted of members who have all studied music at a collegiate level. According to group guitarist and vocalist, Drew McDowell, the band members all met in college. “We found Josh in the Rocky Mountain College pep band,” McDowell said. “Ryan, Juan and I were all part of the Montana State University Billings (MSUB) music program.”

“Meg even studied music production in New York! A fair amount of preparation has gone into our musical endeavors,” McDowell said. “We started off jamming, playing small coffee shops and bar shows. We had ended up becoming a family of sorts. We are super lucky that we actually enjoy hanging out with each other! A band has to click in order to persevere and make an honest go at a music career!”

According to McDowell, the band simply plays the best songs we they can find.

“If it’s a song with a contagious groove that makes your foot tap and your ears perk up, we are going to get ahold of it and put our own creative spin on it.”

Arterial band has been a together for two years. Though they have never been to Washakie county, they are “absolutely jazzed” to play their first county fair. “We’ve played for thousands at Symphony in the Park and packed breweries. We’ve set up in all sorts of awkward nooks, hallways, garages and even an airport baggage claim area! As long as we can reach people’s ears…we will play practically everywhere! We’re super stoked to camp under the Wyoming sky following the performance too! Maybe some campfire jams!”

Arterial Drive’s performance tomorrow night will be following tonight’s performance with Rattlesnake Ridge. The performance will be from 8-11 p.m. with Jarret Kostrba opening at seven.
